Hi, I’m Maddy, the heart behind Colours by Maddy.I am a certified Colour Analyst trained through the International Image Institute, where I studied professional colour theory and the science behind why certain shades make us look bright, fresh, and completely ourselves. My approach is grounded in technical training, but it is also intuitive and personal. I care deeply about how you feel when you see yourself in the mirror. Before stepping into the world of colour, I built my career as a musical theatre performer. I have performed professionally across Australia, the UK, and Japan, working on international stages and in large scale productions. Living and performing around the world shaped my understanding of visual identity in a way I did not even realise at the time. Costumes, headshots, audition outfits, lipstick choices, even how fabric reads under stage lights, all of it matters. It tells a story before you say a word.My interest in colour analysis grew from that world. I could see how invaluable it would be for anyone, but especially for performers. It is not talked about much in training, yet the right colours can completely transform how you present yourself. Your headshots feel more aligned. Your audition wardrobe feels intentional. You look like you, just elevated. And that kind of clarity builds real confidence. At the same time, this work is absolutely not just for actors. Most of my clients simply want to feel better in their clothes. They want to stop second guessing what suits them. They want to walk into work, events, or everyday life feeling polished and at ease. Colour gives you that quiet certainty. It simplifies shopping and helps you build a wardrobe that feels cohesive and true.
Outside of the studio, I am a crafty girl at heart. I love making things, curating little details, sipping matcha while getting lost in a good book. I romanticise the everyday and I think colour is part of that. It is practical, yes, but it is also creative and expressive and surprisingly emotional.Being able to marry my love of performance with my love of colour feels very full circle for me. Both are about presence. Both are about stepping forward with confidence. And I feel so lucky that I now get to help other people step into their own spotlight in a way that feels authentic and effortless.I cannot wait to meet you.
